New Orleans Track Club Scholarships
The New Orleans Track Club, one of the nation's oldest and largest running clubs, annually offers up to four (4) scholarships to new college freshmen who are active in the sport of running.

Judging criteria for the scholarship awards:

Continued NOTC membership

Past participation in NOTC races as a Runner/Walker or Volunteer

Active membership in a High School Track Team

Active membership in a High School Cross Country Team

2024 NOTC Scholarship Application
The deadline to submit an application and essay is June 15, 2024. Scholarships will be awarded at the Summer General Membership meeting and Elections in June 2024. Application details and form can be found HERE.

Past NOTC Scholarship Recipients
Catherine Cahn
High School: Isidore Newman School
College: Tufts University
Major: Film & Media Studies and English
Catherine has run both cross-country and track at Isidore Newman school since 8th grade. As a senior, she was voted captain and helped lead the cross-country team to a second place finish at the state meet. Her favorite NOTC event is the New Orleans Athletic Club's Turkey Day race. Next year, she will continue her running career with Tufts University.
Hope Shales
High School: Mount Carmel Academy
College: Marion Military Institute
Major: Marine and Environmental Sciences
A member of Mount Carmel Academy's cross-country and track teams since the eighth grade, Hope has enjoyed training and competing with her teammates. She won the 3200m outdoor state title her junior year. As a senior, Hope placed first in 5A Cross-Country; first in the Indoor 3200m, breaking the state meet record; and second in the Indoor 1600m. Her favorite NOTC races are the Turkey Day Race and the Summer Series. She is excited to compete on her college's cross-country team.
Brad Boozer
High School: Holy Cross High School
College: Louisiana State University
Major: Architecture
Brad is a long-time NOTC volunteer. He is a two-year letterman in cross country and track and field. Bradley's favorite NOTC events are the Turkey Day Race and Old Man River Half Marathon & 5K. During his senior year track season he was a 5A regional qualifier.
Mary Nusloch
High School: Academy of the Sacred Heart
College: Rhodes College
Major: Undecided
Mary's favorite NOTC race is the Turkey Day Race. She has been running cross country and track since the 6th grade. Most recently, Mary placed first in the 800, 1600, and 3200 at the 3A Outdoor Track and Field Championships. In addition to running, she is also involved in Peer Support and Honor Council at school.
Riley Killian
High School: Archbishop Chapelle
College: Louisiana Tech University
Major: Business
Riley is a long-time competitive runner with several track and cross country records. Most recently she was the district and regional champion in the 1600m and 3200m events. She is also an accomplished student, maintaining a 4.0 throughout high school. She enjoys attending NOTC events with her family and volunteering.
Caroline Hensley
High School: St. Mary's Dominican
College: Louisiana State University
Major: Animal Science
Caroline's favorite NOTC event is the Summer Series. She has been running cross country and track since the 5th grade. As a senior she was voted captain and helped lead the team to a regional championship and third place in the state. As an animal lover she has recorded over 800 hours volunteering with the Louisiana SPCA and plans to become a veterinarian.
Samantha Messonier
High School: St. Mary's Dominican
College: Louisiana State University
Majors: Human Resources and Education
Samantha's experience with NOTC includes the fun and competitive races with her family and teammates. She has been on the Dominican cross-country team for five years, competed in four state meets, and placed fourth in the 2015 9-5A district championships.
Elizabeth Huval
High School: Mount Carmel
College: University of Louisiana at Lafayette
Major: Nursing
Elizabeth is a long time member and volunteer for NOTC. She joined Mount Carmel's cross-country team as an eighth grader and progressed to the varsity team for grades 9-12. She served as captain of the team during her senior year.
Erin Sequeira
High School: St. Mary's Dominican
College: Louisiana State University
Major: Psychology
Erin's favorite NOTC event is the New Orleans Athletic Club's Turkey Day Race. She ran cross-country since 4th grade, and was a 5-year member of both the Dominican Cross-Country and Track teams. In her senior year, Erin was elected team captain. Erin participated in 3 state cross-country meets, as well as multiple district and regional meets.
Katie Williams
High School: St. Martin's Episcopal School
College: Millsaps College
Katie has run varsity cross-country and track for St. Martins Episcopal School. During her three cross country seasons, her team has won first place at state and was state runner up twice. She is a long time NOTC running enthusiast, and her favorite races are the Turkey Day Race and the Greek Festival Race. In the fall Katie will attend Millsaps College where she will continue to run cross-country.
Madeline Kling
High School: Academy of the Sacred Heart
College: University of Notre Dame
Major: Pre-Professional Studies
Madeline has run both varsity cross country and track at the Academy of the Sacred Heart since sixth grade and has been on the team for ten state championship team titles. She enjoys these sports because of the close bond with her teammates. Her favorite NOTC races are the Turkey Day Race, the Ole Man River 5K, and the Greek Festival Run. She hopes to continue running for fitness and through a club in college.
Christopher Wagner
High School: Holy Cross High School
College: University of New Orleans
Major: Chemistry w/ Biochemistry concentration
Christopher is a long-time member, competitor, and volunteer with NOTC. He is a four-year letterman in both cross country and track & field. Christopher is an Eagle Scout and spends time serving his community through Sunday School and leading community service projects. His efforts were recognized by receiving the Archdiocese of New Orleans Parish Youth Leadership Award.
Bryce Monier
High School: St. Martin's Episcopal
College: Columbia University
Major: Mathematics
Bryce is a regular participant of NOTC’s Summer Series and All-Comers Track Meets. He has run competitively on St. Martin's cross country and track & field teams throughout high school. Most recently he placed 3rd in the 3200m at the 1A Outdoor Track State Championships. He's an active member of Student Council, National Honor Society, and Key Club.
Daniel Bischoff
High School: Bowling Green School
College: Lousiana State University
Majors: Mass Comms and Marketing
Daniel is long-time member of the NOTC, and currently participates in varsity track and cross-country at his high school. He is the current district champion in the 1600m and 3200m distances. Daniel hopes to walk onto the LSU Track team in the fall.
John Kling
High School: Jesuit
College: University of Notre Dame
Major: Classics
John's favorite NOTC events include the Greek Fest 5K, Turkey Day Race, and Mardi Gras 5K, in which he placed first. He began cross-country as a fourth grader and has since lettered in both track and cross-country. He is a class 5A all-American Scholar. John hopes to run in college through intramural cross-country and the Notre Dame Running Club.
