Date, Time, and Location
For the safety of participants and supporters, the NOAC Turkey Day Run/Walk will be a virtual event. As a result it can be anywhere you want it to be, whenever you want it to be. We encourage your participation on the traditional Thanksgiving Day weekend (Thursday-Sunday, November 26-29), but that is totally up to you! Just remember, while participating please follow all recommended social distancing guidelines for your region.

Throughout Thanksgiving weekend, share your virtual Turkey Day Race photos on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to win a gift card from Robert Fresh Market. You must include the official hashtag #TurkeyDayNOLA plus tag both @theNOAC and @runNOTC. Winners will be randomly selected for prizes. Be sure your account(s) are public so we can see those photos and message winners!
Validated results from registered participants completing a five mile run or walk will be compiled and published after the virtual race weekend. Send your time and proof of run to firstname.lastname@example.org for consideration. Acceptable proof may be a picture of your running watch with distance and time or a results download from your watch or phone.
Join the Strava virtual group run and submit your finish time to be added to results.
Race packets must be picked up at the New Orleans Athletic Club located at 222 N Rampart St on Tuesday, November 24 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM. Free parking will be available at nearby surface lots. Packets will NOT be mailed to participants.
The Virtual Turkey Day Race is open to all runners and walkers, NOAC and NOTC members and nonmembers alike. All ages are welcome but a legal parent or guardian must complete the online registration process for any minors under the age of 18.

All New Orleans Track Club race registration fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable under all circumstances, including, but not limited to, cancellation of the event or of your participation, or change in the date, nature, or format of the event. An event may be canceled or changed due to severe weather or other factors that threaten the safety of participants, staff, or volunteers. Race bibs cannot be transferred to another participant.
The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, the New Orleans Track Club encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of this race.
At our races, NOTC demonstrates our commitment to an inclusive athletic experience by welcoming race participants, volunteers and guests to use:
- Single-occupancy gender-neutral (unisex) facilities; and
- Use of multiple-occupant, gender-neutral restroom facilities with lockable single occupant stalls.
The New Orleans Track Club strongly recommends against the participation of baby strollers/joggers in road races. The reason for this recommendation is that the inclusion of strollers in races increases the potential for injury to race participants and children.
The NOTC has no objection to and does not discourage the safe and prudent use of strollers or baby joggers in individual training situations. If allowed in a race, stroller or baby joggers or similar devices should be started in the back of the runners and walkers.
Dogs should not be brought to this event for the safety of all participants and volunteers.
