It's a family tradition – come out and run before the feast!

The NOAC Turkey Day Race is open to all runners and walkers, NOTC members and nonmembers alike.

Date and Time

Thursday, November 27, 2014
7:00 AM – Race-day registration and packet pick-up opens
8:30 AM – Start of 5 Mile Race


Tad Gormley Stadium, City Park, New Orleans, LA.

Parking and Transportation

Do not park on the neutral grounds of Marconi Drive or Roosevelt Mall. Your vehicle will be ticketed or towed. Park in the paved lot in front of the stadium or across from Storyland on Victory.


The 5 mile course starts on Marconi Drive outside of Tad Gormley Stadium, runs through City Park, and finishes on the track inside of the stadium.


Awards will be distributed shortly after the race. There is no duplication of awards.

5 Mile Awards

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Overall Male and Female
  • 1st Youth Male and Female (15 and under)
  • 1st Master Male and Female (40 and over)
  • 1st Grandmaster Male and Female (50 and over)
  • 1st Senior Male and Female (60 and over)
  • 1st Legend Male and Female (70 and over)
  • 1st and 2nd Racewalker Male and Female

Kids' Half Mile Awards

  • Top 5 Overall Male and Female

Timing and Scoring

The races will be electronically timed and scored. You must wear your race bib and D-tag properly to be scored. Your race bib must be worn on the front of your torso and be visible at the finish line. Your D-tag must be worn properly on one of your shoes. See Chronotrack D-Tag Instructions for details.

Preliminary results will be posted at the race site at the conclusion of the race. Full results will be published on the NOTC web site.


T-shirts only guaranteed to pre-registered participants.


Post-race refreshments include Kentwood Springs water, beer from Crescent Crown Distributing, and Elmer's CheeWees.


Registration is open to NOTC members and nonmembers alike. All participants must be registered and wear an official race bib while on the course.

  • Kids' Half Mile (ages 2-15)
    • $15 – Registered by November 20, 2014
    • $20 – Race-day registration

    • $60 – Registered by November 20, 2014
    • No late or race-day registration

Family registration is available to preregistered NOTC member families only and includes registration for two adults and other family members age 20 and under living in the same household. Two shirts are included with family registration – additional shirts are $5 each.

Entry fees are non-refundable. Sorry, no exceptions.

Race Day Registration

Race day registration will be available at the race site starting at 7:00 AM. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Credit card must be presented.

Packet Pickup

Louisiana Running

Early packet pick-up will be available Monday and Tuesday, November 24 and 25, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 PM at Louisiana Running Company, 4153 Canal St, New Orleans. Registration will be available during packet pick-up.

Race-day packet pickup will open at 7:00 AM at the race site.

Headphone Policy

For your safety and the safety of others the NOTC and the RRCA discourage the use of headphones during the running or walking of the event.

The NOAC Turkey Day race benefits Spina Bifida of Greater New Orleans (SBGNO), a non-profit, tax-exempt, organization for the expressed purpose of providing services to those persons born with Spina Bifida, and their families, and to increase awareness about Spina Bifida and its prevention.
