Rivershack Run Results

A field of nearly 800 runners and walkers turned out for the RiverShack Run on a Friday night. Brandon Wingate and Kelly Nicholas were the overall winners of the 2 mile race. Post race festivities were held inside and outside the RiverShack Tavern with live music provided by the Mustard Brother's Band.

Hi, I'm LeAnne Cantrell and was with y'all last night on the levee. The Rivershack Run was a blast!
I just wanted to thank all of you, including the 800 or so registered runners, for supporting our KidSense special needs playgrounds. Angels on Earth Foundation is our key sponsor, and half the proceeds of last night's run will go directly toward building something amazing for not just special kids, but young students with ADHD, as well.
If you are a runner, then it's a no-brainer you understand that physical activity is not just good for the body - it is great for the mind. Research shows that a specific kind of exercise - the kind we engineered into our playground design - helps over 91% of kids with attention problems re-focus themselves. The KidSense play yards are being placed close to classrooms, so that kids can get this exercise, self-regulate, and go directly back inside to harness that focus in the class room.
It's about education through recreation.something I hope you will understand that y'all made happen.
