Welcome

Welcome to the New Orleans Track Club. By that, we mean everyone is welcome, even if you are not a runner. You have found yourself on this website because you are interested in health and fitness and you are wondering what we are all about. That's what we do...promote health and fitness through running and walking and we're glad you are interested in joining our club.

Why would you join our club? As a member of NOTC, you are able to run at a discounted entry fee and sign up the whole family using the NOTC Family Member Discount. In addition, your dues/entry fees go towards administration of the club, publication of our magazine Footprints where you will find your own personal race results and photos. You will also receive mail outs containing training plans, race forms, race schedule and NOTC news. You will also receive discounts at area running stores. During the year we also produce the Summer Series, five 2 mile races free of charge to club members.

Your membership dues go not only towards perks you receive personally as a runner or walker, like the production of races for you to run all year long, but towards running programs such as Youth Run NOLA and Girls on the Run to encourage the youth in the city to begin their lives with a healthy lifestyle. Through these programs, we believe their lives will be changed for the better.

Want to make it a family outing but your whole family does not run/walk? Ask your family members to volunteer while you run. Consider volunteering for a race that you do not want to run. If you are not a runner or walker, there is still reason to join NOTC. If you believe in health and fitness, you can help us with our mission of promoting running by volunteering to assist us in producing our races. There are many areas that even the most inexperienced person can assist us with.

So, welcome to the New Orleans Track Club! We look forward to seeing you at the races.

The New Orleans Track Club

The New Orleans Track Club is a membership organization composed of and administered by runners and walkers. The mission of the NOTC is to produce and promote running events both as a competitive sport and as one of the best athletic activities for achieving physical and mental fitness. Membership is open to all, fast, slow, and in-between, who share our passion for the sport.

The NOTC was founded in 1963 with the purpose to promote running in the New Orleans metro area. Since that time the Club has grown to over 2000 members including runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. The NOTC is a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and USA Track and Field Association (USATF).

A full schedule of running and walking events can be found on our website www.runNOTC.org. The club's events vary from track events all the way up to 30K and take place in parks and all areas of the greater New Orleans area. There is a free series of races and track meets during the summer months.

The NOTC Grand Prix Series is open to all members who compete in a set number of designated races in Youth, Adult Open, Master, Grand Masters, Seniors and Race Walker divisions. A festive awards presentation is staged for the division leaders at the end of the year.

The NOTC is a non-profit organization. Officers and members of the Board of Directors are elected annually. Most of the work is performed by club volunteers. In this way we maintain nominal entry fees to cover costs at races. Each year the NOTC contributes thousands of dollars to charitable organizations. In addition the NOTC supports local lower, middle, and high school cross country programs.
