The New Orleans Track Club

The New Orleans Track Club is an organization administered by runners and walkers to promote roadrace events both as a competitive sport and as one of the best athletic activities for achieving physical fitness.

The NOTC was founded in 1963 with the purpose of developing running in the New Orleans metropolitan area. Since that time the club has grown to 2000 members including runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. The NOTC is a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and the USA Track & Field Association (USATF).

A full schedule of running and walking events awaits you. From the 1/2 mile to the New Orleans Mardi Gras Marathon and the south's oldest roadrace, the Jackson Day Race held since 1907. Events take place in a variety of locations that include Audubon Park, City Park, Lakefront, Westbank, French Quarter, Downtown, Metairie, Harahan, Kenner and many other areas... even the Bonnet Carre Spillway! The NOTC New Orleans Grand Prix Series consists of designated races each year in which members compete for Grand Prix awards in divisions for Youth, Adult Open/Master/Grandmaster/Senior and Race Walkers. A festive awards ceremony is staged to present awards to division leaders.

The NOTC is a non-profit organization. Officers and members of the Board of Directors are elected annually. Most of the work is performed by club volunteers. In this way we maintain nominal entry fees to cover costs at races. Each year the NOTC contributes thousands of dollars to charitable organizations such as Children’s Hospital, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund, Epilepsy Foundation, Wheelchair Foundation, City Park, Save our Cemeteries, Save our Lake, and others.
